From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public Affairs (CCEPA) is a non-for profit organization with a mission to facilitate the contemplation of ethics in everyday life. Co-founded in 2002 by the Atlantic School of Theology and Saint Mary’s University, the Centre is located in Halifax, and has a stated mission to provide an arena for critical thinking, public discussion and research into current ethical challenges in society.[1][2][3]

CCEPA uses a collaborative model and partners with the government, the business community, NGO’s, public service agencies and the academy. The Centre facilitates the integration of ethics into their public practices and policies through public programming[4][5], consultation services and research[6]. CCEPA affiliates also contribute editorials to various newspapers and media, such as Halifax's Chronicle Herald[7] [8] and CBC Radio.

The Centre maintains an online database of public programs[9], covering a wide range of ethical topics, including poverty, fat-shaming[10], the effects of pornography over-consumption[11], sexualized violence on university campuses[12], racism[13], refugees[14], ethical banking[15], living-wages, social media[16][17], indigenous issues[18], cyber-bulling, sex-trafficking of minors,[19] [20] and the role of the public in science.[21] CCEPA has hosted speakers such as Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times reporter Sheri Fink[22][23], Kwame Akroma-Ampim Kusi Anthony Appiah[24] , Canadian Senator Murray Sinclair[25] , philosopher Stephen Stich, Stephen Shapin, Evelyn Fox Keller, Preston Manning, Ford Doolittle, Stephanie Nolan, and Edward Greenspon.

The Centre is governed by 18 Board of Directors[26], which provides oversight to the staff of two which includes an Executive Director and a Program Coordinator.  CCEPA is funded by institutional, corporate and individual donations.
