CapitalVia Global Research Limited[3] is an India based financial market research and consulting firm, focused on advisory services in Stocks, Cash and F&O traded in NSE & BSE, commodities including bullion, metals and agro-commodities traded in MCX, NCDEX and Currency markets as well.[4] It was founded by Rohit Gadia in 2006 in Bangalore.[5][6]
In 2013, it acquired DreamGains Financials.[7][8]
In 2021, it launched its mobile app.[9]
Controversy
SEBI barred CapitalVia Global Research and its three directors from taking up any new advisory business in 2016. It was alleged that CapitalVia charged for their services rendered, wherein they promised an assured return of 10 percent, which is against the SEBI guidelines.[10][11]
Another Securities and Exchange Board of India probe had found that CapitalVia failed to comply with regulatory requirements prescribed in Investment Advisers Regulations such as Know Your Client (KYC) requirements, risk profiling, suitability of the advice and maintenance of records, segregating investment advisory and execution services and compliance with qualification and certification requirements, and the company was fined for the same.[12][13]
The suspension was extended later the next year.[14]
As of 2020, the ban was relaxed.[15][16]
