Capnjames (Musician)
Capnjames is an American singer-songwriter and producer from Northern Virginia. Getting his start as a guitarist and bassist in various bands, he began recording and producing beats and uploading them to the internet through SoundCloud. He began writing and recording his own songs several years later, citing influences such as Fats'e, 100 Gecs, Cap'n Jazz, and Aldn. He is also a member and co-founder of the independent label and artist collective, The Degenerates (DGNR8 PRODUCTIONS)

Musical Style[edit]
On various occasions Capnjames has described his music as slugsynth, hyperslug, dreamcore, emo, midwest emo, emo rap, dream pop, shoegaze, hyperpop, digicore, digital hardcore, laptop math rock, or simply alternative. He is inspired by a lot of different genres and heavily incorporates "ethereal" or "dream-like" sounds into his production, along with heavy 808 basslines. His vocal delivery is very much midwest emo, math rock, and punk inspired.
