Capricorn Coast Mirror
The Capricorn Coast Mirror is a weekly community newspaper covering local news, issues and events on the Capricorn Coast in Central Queensland.[1]
The Capricorn Coast Mirror is owned by News Corp Australia and published by Capricornia Newspapers Ltd.[1][2] The newspaper is delivered to homes and businesses on the Capricorn Coast for free.[1] The current editor of the Capricorn Coast Mirror is Trish Bowman.[1]
It was launched as a privately owned newspaper on 20 August 1983 by John and Suzy Watson.[3]
After 532 consecutive issues, the Watsons sold the Capricorn Coast Mirror for an undisclosed sum in October 1993 to Capricornia Newspapers, publishers of Rockhampton's daily newspaper, The Morning Bulletin.[4][5]
The Watsons went on to establish a competing independent local news magazine on the Capricorn Coast called The Spectator.[6][7]
The Capricorn Coast Mirror marked its 30th anniversary in 2013 by releasing a commemorative standalone publication called Capricorn Coast Mirror: Celebrating 30 Years.[8]
