CardsApp is a free cross-platform mobile application for smartphones and loyalty programs platform that keeps loyalty cards and allows users to display loyalty cards. Users can display a loyalty card with one click, thus eliminating the need of plastic cards. CardsApp also enables merchants to create a digital loyalty card via CardsApp merchant's control panel, without having to print plastic loyalty cards.

As of November 10, 2013, CardsApp serves over 1.2 million monthly active users (about 76% are located in Asia). More than 100,000 loyalty cards are managed via CardsApp merchant's control panel (cards.cardsapp.com) [1][2].

    Usage[edit]

Upon installation, a user creates a CardsApp account which will be later used to store user's loyalty cards. Users can also create a CardsApp account via Facebook, this will help restore user's loyalty points and loyalty cards if his phone is lost or broken. CardsApp automatically updates available cards by GPS location.

    Availablity[edit]

CardsApp is currently supported on Android (Version 2.2 and later), iPhone (iOS 4.3 and later), and Windows Phone (Version 8 and 8.1) smartphones, however, some Dual SIM devices may not be compatible with CardsApp, though there are some workarounds for this. CardsApp is currently available in a number of languages: English, Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Chinese and Turkish.

    Merchants[edit]

    CardsApp offers merchants several tools:

    • Create a digital loyalty card.
    • Send targeted updates/coupons directly to customers' smartphones (via Push technology).
    • Reduce loyalty program management costs and plastic loyalty cards logistics costs.
    • Private loyalty club, only authorized members will be able to add a card (widely used by payed loyalty programs), this way each user gets his own personal card password.
    • Client usage statistics with CardsApp statistics.
    • API\API+ [3] (Remote Connection), connect with CardsApp API, manage memberships (create, delete, validate & extend memberships, decrease\increase customer's credits) via any platform, connect a cash register, website, entry door (widely used by gyms) etc.
    • International Visibility allows merchants to become global by making their loyalty card available worldwide.

    'Green' alternative to plastic cards[edit]

CardsApp is an eco friendly alternative to plastic cards, of which 33 billion were produced in 2012 alone. Those cards are made of polyvinyl chloride, a substance that contains pollutants that are extremely harmful to the environment and holds a very slow decomposition rate.
