Carlo Fusco (born September 26th 1977).[1] is an Italian film director, screenwriter and producer.
Life and career[edit]
Fusco was born in Potenza. He graduated Economics and started his studies at the prestigious Sapienza University of Rome in Political Science, but dropped out of University to pursue a career as a movie director. His first film, Storie di citta, was released in 1999. He also began directing low-budget movies, including The Roses Island in 1999, Lucania storia infinita, A Broken Rock and Prigioniero di un Segreto [2], in 2010 with Franco Nero. At age 33, he directed Sins Expiation [3] , a mob action movie , starring Michael Madsen, Danny Glover , John Savage , Steven Bauer, Anne Jeffreys, Luigi Maria Burruano and Hal Yamanouchi. The film won Best Film and Best Director prizes at Mendicino International Film Festival , in 2011.
The feature lenght Pochi Giorni per Capire (2010) written and directed by himself, starring Luigi Maria Burruano treats the Pedophily theme and it's a only four days shooting movie. Films like Prigioniero di un Segreto (2010) and Sins Expiation were also nominated at David di Donatello Awards. Carlo Fusco's “ Una Roccia Spezzata” (2007) a social film starring real menthal disease patients , excepting the protagonist Franco Nero, that won Best Actor Award at Sevilla Film Contest[4]
In 2014, he moved to Romania, producing and directing Kidnapped in Romania [5] an action movie, starring Michael Madsen, Paul Sorvino , Maia Morgenstern and the drammatic pshycological thriller The Slider , starring Ieva Lykos, Tom Sizemore , Bruce Davison , Maia Morgenstern , Darryl Hannah and Hal Yamanouchi.
