Early Life
Charles Axel René TCHIKOUNDZI (born November 19, 1991), known professionally as Carlo Koosh, is a Gabonese Christian rapper, formerly into worldly rap genre. He is often regarded as a very talented original artist of his generation, as well as one of the most bilingual speaker in his music. Born and raised in Libreville, Capital City of Gabon, he made impact on streaming platforms such as SoundCloud and Audiomack as an independent artist signed to his record label Geeked-Up Records.
Career
In 2008, while being a student at Nelson Mandela High School, in Libreville, he started showing interests in making music but was not always believed to be capable of doing so. He recorded his first song "Passport To Your Heart" inspired by his girlfriend at the time. That first attempt was marked by the unexpected success and that song was performed at his school during the mid-semester carnival taking place once a year. His mates were found dancing and appreciating the music and the performance. What caught more attention was the fluency in rapping in english whereas his native language is french.
Later, he decided to start producing independently his first album "A New King Was Born" at the same time as creating his record label, Geeked-Up Records. He collaborated on many songs in that album with artists like Le Flow Du Sud, Lil King, and others. This is when he decided to promote his music by uploading it on streaming platforms such as SoundCloud and Hulkshare.
It's only after the popularity of this album that Carlo Koosh made several mixtapes like "Chickens In The Pot" or "Girls I F@#ked", thus enhancing the spotlight over him. He then pursued with starting his second album "Deep Truth" featuring american rappers such as Kipp Kels and MXB and local rappers such as D'Guerime, Youl C, Kell'z, Kiss Baby and many others.
Carlo Koosh is a music artist previously known since 2010 as Master-Boyz TRN with several singles from his first mixtape "A New King Was Born" currently available on Soundcloud for most of them. At the beginning of his career in 2010, he worked with two producers/beatmakers : DJ Angeles and El-Griv. These two guys were in the same high school as Carlo Koosh and made many of the first instrumental he recorded on. They are the start button for Carlo Koosh's interest in rap music but also source of inspiration. They were in twelveth grade and Carlo Koosh was in eleventh grade when they undertook those events. When they finally succeed at their A-Level graduation, they left the floor to another beatmaker of their entourage named Lil King because both of them were going to move about. Carlo Koosh comes back out in 2011 and 2012 with one idea in mind : making an album entitled "Deep Truth" which finally came out in June 2013. During 2012, Carlo Koosh recorded many tracks for a second mixtape entitled "Unofficial Mixtape" but until today, it did not go through but he published tracks along with time but not the entire mixtape ; it seems like he dropped the project. Most of those songs are remixes but some are exclusive productions from beatmakers such as Conscious Beats, Kelly Roberts and DJ Ill Sound. Carlo Koosh, mainly work with worldwide producers and beatmakers but locally speaking, he worked with Hustler Beats and SlayerBeatz who are popular in his country. He's mainly made music promotion on his own via social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, Hulkshare and so on. Today, he takes stands by working with promotional network to help him with his exposure to the world and it's working well so far. He is into Rap/Trap/Crunk music mostly and coming up with new singles for 2014 including "Twenty Two". In january 1st 2014, he changed his artist name to Carlo Koosh.
He started writing poems since the age of 9 and he kept going this way until 15. At first, he wanted to become a singer but his voice had changed during teenhood so he switched to rap music because he liked it too but not as much as singing. With time, he's learnt to love rap and hip hop more and now he does it with all my heart. he wrote his first pure rap lyrics when he was 17. People liked his style from the beginning to now because it was different from what they used to hear locally. He has always made music in english whereas his native language is french. His music pulls influences from Lil Wayne, 50 Cent, Meek Mill, Ace Hood and Soulja Boy Tell'Em. You can recognize that through his songs.
Personal Life
Carlo Koosh is the father of one, a girl, and has been married to Esther Opeoluwa OMOSANYA since December 27th 2025.
He interrupted his music career in 2017 after the death of his father on March 28th of that year. However, he has released his last song "Alright" and "Bought The Vert" in 2018 and 2019 whereas sources say they had been recorded back in early 2017 weeks before his father passed away. During interviews, when asked about the reason of his pause in music and plans for the future, he said "Music will always be part of my life but right now, I got other responsibilities such as raising my daughter and focus more on myself. If I ever want to return to the game, you will be informed."
He has been projecting to return to the music scene as a Gospel Rapper but has not specified any more of his music related plans.
