Carlos Alves
Carlos Manuel Ferreira Alves (born on 25 June 1992) is a Portuguese researcher and university professor, known for his work in the areas of augmented reality, computer science, and marketing management [1].
Biography
Carlos Manuel Ferreira Alves was born on 25 June 1992, in Braga, Portugal. He completed his secondary studies in Management Informatics at Esprominho - Escola Profissional do Minho in 2010. He completed a CET course at IPCA in 2012. In 2016, he obtained a degree in Communication and Multimedia from the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. In 2018, he completed a master’s degree in Marketing Management at the Portuguese Institute of Administration and Marketing with the dissertation titled "THE INTENTION TO USE E-COMMERCE USING AUGMENTED REALITY – THE CASE OF IKEA PLACE"[2].
He is currently completing his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Minho, with a thesis focused on the application of augmented reality in e-commerce using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)[3].
Academic Career
Carlos Alves began his career as a researcher at the ALGORITMI Centre at the University of Minho, where he has participated in several funded research projects. His work focuses on big data, augmented reality, and smart cities. In February 2023, he became an Assistant Professor at the University of Maia, teaching courses related to his area of expertise[4].
