Carlos Joaquín González-Camino Calleja, also known as Carlos Camino, is a Spanish actor known for Glow and darkness, Queens, Virgin & Martyr, Bienvenidos al Lolita, and Eryka's Eyes.[1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Biography

Born on October 2, 1991, in Santander, Spain, he began his studies in theater at age 9, and then moved to Madrid when he was 17 years old to begin his acting career.

After living in Madrid for four years, where he studied acting at the RESAD and appeared in numerous commercials and TV shows such as Todo es posible en el bajo, Lolita Cabaret and the movie Eryka's Eyes, he moved to Hollywood, California to continue his drama training at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he performed many plays and musicals such as West Side Story, A Hatful of Rain and On the Town.

In November 2014 he filmed the movie Altamira with Antonio Banderas. He then graduated from AADA in summer 2015 and in the fall of 2016 he starred in BBC's and TVE's historical TV series Queens, Virgin & Martyr, which premiered on Amazon Prime Video in summer 2017.

Later that year he got his first part in a Hollywood production. He had a small role in Dan Krauss' The Kill Team starring Alexander Skarsgård and Natt Wolff. After that he went back to acting school when he attended many workshops in Madrid, London and Los Angeles with renowned Hollywood acting coach Bernard Hiller where he met great casting directors like Dan Hubbard, April Webster and director Kenny Ortega.

In 2019 Carlos returned to the stage with the play Donde mueren las palabras with Alex Pastrana, Román Reyes, Ángel Caballero and his Todo es posible en el bajo co-star Ramón San Román. The play ran for a year at the Teatro Lara theater in Madrid, before it started its Spanish tour all around the country.[8] [9] [10] [11] [12]

In early 2020 Carlos was cast in Glow and darkness, another Amazon Prime Video production which is set to air in 2021. Carlos plays the historical character Elias de Cortona, one of the closest friends of the series main character Francis of Assisi played by Dominic Andersen. This production includes great cast names such as Jane Seymour (actress), Denise Richards, Joan Collins, Ed Westwick, Mira Sorvino, Bruce Davison, and Eduardo Noriega.[13] <ref>Lang, Jamie; Lang, Jamie (January 10, 2020).
