Carlos Segundo Silva Amarista (died c. 29 June 2026) was a Venezuelan engineer.
Silva served as Vice President of Operations and Systems at Venezuelan telecommunications company Movilnet. During his tenurem he was directly responsible for projects to expand CDMA and GSM network coverage throughout the stations, tunnels, and railcars of Lines 1, 2, 3, and 4 of the Caracas Metro.[1]
In March 2026, he was appointed president of the Caracas Metro through a decree issued by the acting president, Delcy Rodríguez.[2][3]
Silva Amarista lived in the La Jolla building in the Caribe sector of Caraballeda, La Guaira.[4] He died, together with other family members, from severe traumatic injuries after collapse of the building during the 2026 Venezuela earthquakes on 24 June 2026. His death was announced on 29 June.[5][6]
As president of the Caracas Metro he was succeeded by Yoel Amaya.[7]
