Carnival Brain is a Moldovan-Estonian electronic music duo. The project was founded by musical composers and producers Anton Ragoza and Dumitru Golban.[2][3]
Members
Anton Ragoza was born on 6 January 1986 in Tiraspol, MSSR. He is the violinist, producer and musical composer. Commonly known as the Epic Violin Guy and a former member of the SunStroke Project.[4]
Dumitru Golban was born on 2 November 1991 in Chișinău, Moldova. Since 2023, he lives in Tallinn.[5] Commonly known as the Formal One and Enesence, is a Moldovan musician, DJ, producer and sound designer.[6]
Career
In March 2019, the project Carnival Brain was presented.[7][8][9] In the same year, they released a remix of Mohombi's song "Hello". That same year, they were guests on the program "Azbuka Vkusa" on RTR Moldova.[10]
At the end of 2023, they released the Estonian-language track "Tere Eesti" and the official video in September 2024.[11][12] Since 2023, they have regularly been participants in programs on state Radio 4 and their tracks are in rotation.[8][13][14][15]
In the Moldovan film "The Power of Probability" (Puterea Probabilitatii), the track "Party Don't Stop" was played. In 2024, they wrote music for the film's teaser "Juvenile Inspektor: The Shadow Over Jõhvi".[5][16]
Together with the singer Bacho, they released the song "Semafoare" and were selected as participants in the selection round of Eurovision 2025 in Moldova.[17] The video was released on January 17. On January 22, it became known that TRM refused to participate in the Eurovision contest.[18] On the website eurovisionworld.com, the song received more than 50% of the votes among all participants of the qualifying tournament in Moldova.[19][20][21][22][23][24] On March 28, together with Bacho, they released the second music video and track "Tu Tu Tu", which became a continuation of the "Semafoare" video.[25]
The band's tracks are regularly premiered on Moldovan radio Europa Plus.[26][27][28][29][30][31]
