Carole Copeland Thomas

Carole Copeland Thomas (born August 21, 1953) is an author, motivational speaker, and business consultant.[1]

Early Life

Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Gwendolyn Charleston Copeland and Wilson Copeland, Sr., Thomas graduated from Cass Technical High School and earned her B.A. from Emory University in 1975.[2]

In 1985, Thomas received a Martin Luther King, Jr. academic fellowship and earned her M.B.A. from Northeastern University in Boston.[3]

Career

As a young woman, Thomas worked in sales for Mary Kay Cosmetics before moving to Boston with her family and working at The Gillette Company and the Bank of New England as an assistant product manager.[4]

In 1987, Thomas founded Temporary Solutions, a temporary employment agency that later expanded to C. Thomas and Associates. By 1989, the agency ran speaking and facilitation trainings with a focus on diversity, leadership, and multiculturalism.[5]

To foster multiculturalism and connect communities to opportunities in academia, business, government, and education, Thomas launched the Multicultural Symposium Series in 2008.[6]

From 2003 to 2009, Thomas hosted "Focus on Empowerment," a weekly talk show initially on Boston's WILD 1090 AM radio, and later on WBNW 1120 AM.[7]

Personal Life

Thomas has three children and two grandchildren.[8]
