Carole May McNeeran (October 31, 1935 – December 19, 1971) was an American actress, dancer and singer. She appeared regularly on Howdy Doody as Bucky. She also appeared on several television shows and films in 1960s. She had a well-known overbite due to having a condition known as hyperodontia, meaning she had four additional incisor teeth like her sister.
Life and Career
Carole May McNeeran was born on October 31, 1935, at Nashville General Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee, to Charlie McNeeran (March 3, 1901 – December 19, 1977) and Betty McNeeran (Neé Lee; January 31, 1911 – April 5, 1972).
She and her sister were diagnosed with Malocclusion in June 18, 1938.
She was hired in October 1954 by NBC director E. Roger Muir, at the request of Bob Smith (who Nicholson had worked with in Buffalo), for The Howdy Doody Show as Bucky with her own buck teeth which he kept until the end of the show in 1960.
Carole McNeeran was married to tenor Roberto Mugnaio in 1959. The couple divorced in 1963 when Mugnaio had been having an affair with Gale Garnett and he married her.

Personal Life
Carole McNeeran was married three times. Her first marriage was to tenor Roberto Mugnaio in 1959. The couple divorced in 1963 when that Mugnaio had been having an affair with Gale Garnett.
McNeeran's second marriage, to golfer Arnold Shaw lasted from 1963 to his death of 1969.
McNeeran's third and final marriage, to millionaire businessman Greg Cronkite from 1969 to her death in 1971
Death
At around morning of December 19, 1971, McNeeran was discovered motionless at the bottom of her husband’s swimming pool at her husband’s mansion. Her husband Greg Cronkite, was convinced she was alive when she was taken out of the pool, insisting she still had a pulse. However, by the time the doctors arrived, it was too late, and she was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital where she died at the age of 36.
McNeeran was cremated and her ashes given to her husband Greg Cronkite
