Carrington Academy is a group of private preschools serving children from six weeks of age through pre-kindergarten. The schools operate multiple locations across the Atlanta, Georgia metropolitan area. Carrington Academy is part of Spring Education Group, a national network of private schools offering programs from early childhood through high school.[1]
History
The school has expanded across northern Georgia since the mid-2010s. In 2015, the organization opened a new preschool in the Big Creek area of Alpharetta, Georgia.[2] The following year, a location was added in Suwanee, Georgia.[3] In 2017, Carrington Academy opened a second Alpharetta campus in the Avalon planned community.[4] In 2018, the organization expanded into South Hall County with the opening of a preschool in Braselton.[5]
Programming
The school offers an early childhood curriculum focused on developing cognitive, social-emotional, and physical skills.Cite error: The opening <ref> tag is malformed or has a bad name In addition to its private preschool programs, the organization participates in Georgia’s state-funded Pre-K program, which is administered by the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning.[6]
Community engagement includes student-led fundraising projects, such as lemonade stands for Alex's Lemonade Stand.[7]
The school took part in Jumpstart's Read for the Record Day, joining over 2 million readers nationwide in celebrating early literacy. Georgia classrooms, including the organization’s own, conducted shared reading events, reading aloud to reinforce language development and build community around early reading.[8]
Accreditation
Several locations are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Child (NAEYC).[9]
