Carrion
Carrion is s Norwegian industrial rock band formed between 2013 and 2014 by sole constant member and front-man Hide Tepes known for their dark, heavy industrial styled music mixed with occult and spiritual imagery and lyrical content exploring dreams, gnosticism, the left hand path and more.
Starting as a one-man project intended to explore electronic music genres the band released a handful of singles, demos and EP`s where genres range from EBM, industrial and dark ambient / experimental music.
In 2019 Carrion released what is considered to be their first offical full-lenght album "Iconoclasm". The album was released indepently via Bandcamp. The album introduced heavier rock/metal influences as well as opposes to the earlier ambient and experimental stylings. The album was produced by Darrin Lewis of Nothing Valentine.
In 2020 Carrion began work on their second album entitled `Testament Ov The Exiled`. Once again shifting genres and favouring a more polished production as well as slow-paced, dirging, guitar-heavy songs mixed with industrial beats composed utilizing modular synthesizers the album yielded two singles; `The Blood Ov Saints`and `The Tempest`, the former, a heavy industrial-styled song and the latter a power ballad.
Testament Ov The Exiled gained the attention of the Pennsylvania based indie label Brutal Resonance Records who signed Carrion and released a speccial edition of the album in January of 2021. The Revised Edition was given a limited cassette release as well as digital and included an additional 5 tracks, mainly remixes by Decent News, Dead Agent and Vanity Kills, including an alternate version of the song `To Eat Crow`and a new song titled `Dogs Ov Hell`.
Following the release of the Revised Edition Carrion announced Joe Crow of the UK based industrial metal band Vanity Kills as an official member, completing the line-up along with Sam Dusk and front-man Hide Tepes.
Carrion has slowly gained a following within the alternative music scene amongst fans of industrial as well as metal and is , as of February 2021, working on the follow-up to Testament Ov The Exiled. Hide Tepes have stated in interview following the previous albums release that the new album will be "Darker and heavier" and composed "Using mainly modular synthesizers and hardware equipment".
