CartUp is a Bangladeshi e-commerce platform and online marketplace. Launched in February 2025, the company established a significant presence in the country's retail sector within its first year of operation.[1] Operating as a strategic subsidiary of US-Bangla Airlines, it leverages the group's existing aviation and logistics infrastructure to facilitate nationwide deliveries.[2]
History
In late 2024, following the rapid expansion of the e-commerce sector in Bangladesh, the US-Bangla Group conceptualized 'CartUp' as its dedicated digital retail venture.[3] The platform officially commenced operations in February 2025, aiming to integrate air-logistics with retail.[4]
Awards and Recognition
Shortly after its inception, CartUp received several national and international accolades. In 2025, it was honored as the 'Emerging E-commerce Platform of the Year' at the Bangladesh Business Excellence Awards.[5]
In 2026, the company was shortlisted for the 'Asian Tech Innovation Award' for its trial of drone-based delivery systems in metropolitan areas.[6] It also received a recognition memento from the e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (e-CAB) for its contribution to the rural e-commerce supply chain.[7]
Statistics
Market surveys conducted in early 2026 indicated that CartUp became one of the top three e-commerce platforms in Bangladesh in terms of monthly active users.[8] Reports suggest that approximately 45% of online consumers in Bangladesh have interacted with the platform at least once since its launch.[2]
Criticism
Like many rapidly scaling startups, CartUp faced initial criticism regarding its customer support response times during peak sale seasons.[9] The company subsequently introduced automated AI-driven support systems to mitigate these issues.[10]
