Cas Sigers-Beedles

Cas Sigers-Beedles is a professional writer, director, and producer from Winston-Salem, North Carolina.[1] She has written and sold over twenty screenplays for various television networks and studios including Hallmark, BET+, and UPtv.[2]

Some of her most notable television films include Where’s the Love, Girlfriends Getaway 1 & 2, and Welcome to the Family.[3]  Sigers-Beedles has also written NAACP Image Award nominated films Sugar Mommas, Between Sisters and A Cross to Bear. Her most popular film to date is the biopic drama, When Love Kills, the Falicia Blakely Story.[4] The film was nominated for two NAACP Image Awards: outstanding writing and outstanding TV feature.[5]

Sigers-Beedles formed her production company, Nina Holiday Entertainment (NHE) in 2008.[6] Under her company she’s released three films through Viacom: Angrily Ever After, Hip Hop Holiday, and T’was the Chaos before Christmas. T’was the Chaos before Christmas is one of the highest rated Christmas films in BET history and was nominated for a NAACP Image Award for outstanding writing in 2020.[7] Under NHE, she has also created, alongside business partner and actress, Terri J. Vaughn, For Richer or Poorer which was the first scripted television series for UPtv.[8][9] She also wrote and produced Merry Wishmas plus eight other films available on Amazon Prime Video, BET+, and Tubi.[10][11]

In March of 2020, Sigers-Beedles started her writer and director debut with the release of her feature film Open, starring Keith Robinson, Matt Cedeno and Essence Atkins.[12][13] That same year she also directed a psychological thriller, Mediator.[14]

Sigers-Beedles most recently wrote and directed an all-female heist film, Scheme Queens, which was selected for the 2022 American Black Film Festival. She also recently created the feature film Unthinkably Good Things, starring Karen Pitman.[15] This will be the first movie for Hallmark’s Mahogany Label launching in 2022.[16]

In addition to all Siger-Beedles’ on-screen writing, she has also authored six fiction novels through Kensington Press Publication. Her novels include: Chocolate Dove, At Last I Bloom, The Virgin Widow; Love is Simple, Forever is Tricky; Pieces of a Man, and Three Cords and the Truth.[17]
