Cascadia Interstate High Speed Rail Authority

The Cascadia Interstate High Speed Rail Authority is being created by Washington, Oregon, and British Columbia in Canada to study the Pacific Northwest Rail Corridor. On January 15th the Washington State Legislature introduced a bill for 3.5 million dollars for creating and starting the Cascadia High Speed Rail Authority.[1] The bill will also call for 10 employees to be actively employed while work will begin on the design phase of the Cascadia High Speed Rail between Vancouver, Seattle, Spokane, and Portland. The Federal Railroad Administration needs a environmental impact report by summer of 2019.

The bill contains funding for 3.25 million dollars and 10 employees to be actively empolyed while work will begin on the design phase of the Cascadia High Speed Rail between Vancouver, Seattle, Spokane, and Portland. This will be depending on the Washington State Legislature approves this bill. A decision will be made in April 2019.
