Cassie (robot)

Cassie is a bipedal robot designed by the Dynamic Robotics Lab at Oregon State University.[1], before being licensed for commercial sales by Agility Robotics. The final Cassie sale was in July 2019[2]. Digit, the successor to Cassie, includes arms, perception sensors, and a redesigned foot[3]
Development
Designed as the successor to ATRIAS, Cassie has the ability to turn while walking thanks to a three degree-of-freedom hip[4]. The robot also has actuated ankles, allowing it to balance in place. Named after the Cassowary, Cassie's leg design was chosen to reduce the size of the actuators compared to ATRIAS. [5]
