• For the purposes of this category, "Eastern Europe" is defined in accordance with the World Geographical Scheme for Recording Plant Distributions (WGSRPD), namely as a region within the botanical continent of Europe that includes the following areas, typically defined by the political boundaries of its constituents:
  • Belarus
  • the Baltic States
    • Estonia
    • Kaliningrad
    • Latvia
    • Lithuania
  • Crimea (Krym)
  • Central European Russia: including Belgorod Oblast, Bryansk Oblast, Chuvashia, Ivanovo Oblast, Kaluga Oblast, Kostroma Oblast, Kursk Oblast, Lipetsk Oblast, Mordovia, Moscow Oblast, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Oryol Oblast, Penza Oblast, Ryazan Oblast, Smolensk Oblast, Tambov Oblast, Tula Oblast, Tver Oblast, Ulyanovsk Oblast, Vladimir Oblast, Voronezh Oblast, and Yaroslavl Oblast
  • East European Russia: including Bashkortostan, Kirov Oblast, Mari El, Orenburg Oblast, Perm Krai, Samara Oblast, Tatarstan, and Udmurtia
  • North European Russia: including Arkhangelsk Oblast (excluding Novaya Zemlya and Franz Josef Land), Republic of Karelia, Komi Republic, Murmansk Oblast, and Vologda Oblast
  • South European Russia: including Astrakhan Oblast, Kalmykia, Rostov Oblast, Saratov Oblast, and Volgograd Oblast
  • Northwest European Russia: including Leningrad Oblast, Novgorod Oblast, Pskov Oblast, and Saint Petersburg
  • Ukraine
    • Moldova
• Native taxa of the lowest rank are included if they occur widely in the region, otherwise they should be included in the flora of one or more of the constituent areas. Higher taxa are included only if endemic.
