This category is misnamed and should be called "Human hybrids". It includes both fictional or mythological hybrids which are partly human and biological hybrids within Homo (i.e. archaic + modern human species or subspecies) or possibly early Hominini (human-chimpanzee split 6 Mya) hybridization.
"hominid" is used neither in the biological sense of "great apes" nor in the colloquial sense of "roughly human-shaped".
