Category 5 is a 2014 American disaster film directed by Rob King. It stars Burt Reynolds, C. Thomas Howell, and Lisa Sheridan. The film is also produced by Christopher Sean Brown, Jeremy Fox, Conor Riley, and Barry Rosen.

The film is set during and after Hurricane Katrina. It was theatrically released on May 21, 2014. Filming began in France in 2013.

Plot[edit]

Before Hurricane Katrina happens, Charlie and Danny run away from the city. Danny, who was Charlie's brother, needs his wife to go home and defend the house to be safe. Charlie demands that Danny should also help his niece, Victoria.

A few years later, Victoria's parents have been killed. Victoria goes to high school and is looking at the meteorology. The volcanic eruption happened in Mexico. Another storm was formed, and Victoria looks as if she suspecting another Category 5 hurricane. Pete was Victoria's friend. They went to the coast to report news about the expected storm. Victoria and Pete also warned other people and residents.

Charlie went to his dad to warn him about the storm because his dad cannot answers any phone calls. Charlie's son, Ethan, then gets out of the car and follows him to safety. Charlie's mom, Ellie, and Ethan follow the family to the safer area. Victoria and Pete then start to report about the storm.

Now Pops and the birds are leaving. The family went inside the house to be safe from the floods and the storm. Pops was shot by one of the homeowners because he thought that the DuPuis family were looters. The son of the DuPuis family was burried, but the family tried to let him escape. However, the father was hit by the storm. They went into the storm cellar and intended to help the son.

Victoria drives her car home, but it got hit by the storm. The professer publishes the school news and airs the report on websites, television, and radio. Charlie and Ethan are now able to save the family.
