Catherine kiama
Background Catherine Kiama was born on October 9, 1988, in Nairobi[1] where she was also raised.
Education
She attended Maryhill Girls High School in Thika[2] from 2003 to 2006. She went to the Alliance Francaise[3] in Nairobi for her level 1 in French. In 2007, she attained her Diploma in Computer Applications at The Computer Pride Limited School. Catherine transitioned into The Institute of Legal Executives and attained her Bachelor of Laws degree at The University of London[4] in the graduating class of 2012. She came back to Kenya and studied at the Kenya School of Law[5] where she became an advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Work
She has more than seven years of executive management, advocacy, strategic planning, resource development, communications, program management, and commercial litigations. Catherine worked for Tripple OK Law Advocates[6] in 2012 and later as a Grant Manager for Nike Foundation in the United States of America[7]. She also worked as a program associate at the Aids Law Project from 2012 to 2013 and also a legal intern at The coalition Violence Against Women. She is currently the Programs co-ordinator at Akili Dada[8]. She sits in two boards, The United Religious Initiative[9] and The Community Education and Empowerment Centre[10].
Catherine is the founder of Sisterhood, a local mentorship project located in Nairobi in January 2017.
