Cedric Penn is a former American football and baseball player.[1] He started football at Purdue University then later transferred to Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, where he became an All-American collegiate football player in 1988.[2] Before playing football, Penn was offered a contract with the Milwaukee Brewers baseball team, which he declined to pursue football instead.[3] He was an All American Associated Press and Sporting News All American.

Early Years[edit]

Penn was the youngest of eight siblings in rural Pennsylvania. His parents insisted on higher education to avoid becoming a third generation coal mine or steel mill worker was a strong possibility. The Milwaukee Brewers offered him a baseball contract, for which he declined, prior to graduating from high school, opting instead to receive full scholarships in both baseball and football to various universities around the country. Ultimately, Cedric chose Purdue University but later transferred to Western Kentucky where he played as an All-American, graduated and anticipated being a NFL draft pick.[4]

Today, Penn is a businessman, author, podcaster, and business coach.
