Cengiz Elbeye (10 July 1968- 11 February 2010) was a Turkish professional oil wrestler (pehlivan).

Life[edit]

Born in Antalya in 1968, he started wrestling in 1982 at İstanbul Güreş İhtisas Club. After pillow wrestling for four years, he started oil wrestling in 1986. In 1994 after his opponent Ahmet Taşçı forfeited at Kırkpınar he became chief wrestler. Four years later he defended his title against Ahmet Taşçı again, securing his title for the second time. He died of a brain tumour on 11 February 2010, at the age of 42.[1]
