The Cenote Guy was founded in 2018 by Aydin Dinç[2]. A PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and a TDI Full Cave Diver, Dinç began diving professionally in 2017 aiming to create a company focused exclusively on cavern diving[2][3][4]. In February 2018, The Cenote Guy began operations in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, as a company specializing on guiding in the cenotes, leaving aside ocean diving and diver training[2]—two largest scuba diving markets in the Riviera Maya, a region famous for its coral reefs that form part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef. Since its inception, The Cenote Guy has received positive reviews on TripAdvisor, Google Maps and travellers’ blogs[5][6][7]. As of 2023, the Cenote Guy ranks #2 by traveler ranking on TripAdvisor, among more than 600 outdoor activities in Playa del Carmen, and holds TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice award.[8]
