Center for Contemporary Sciences
Center for Contemporary Sciences (CCS)[1] is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2020 and led by Aysha Akhtar.
CCS is a science advocacy organization dedicated to finding solutions that improve the health and wellbeing of humans, animals, and the planet.
CCS was the scientific lead behind FDA Modernization Act 2.0,[2] signed into law on December 29, 2022. The FDA Modernization Act 2.0 is a bipartisan-supported bill that updates the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA) by lifting the requirement for animal testing to determine drug safety and effectiveness and allowing for more human-relevant methods to be used.
