Central Coast New Tech (CCNTH) is an American public high school located in Nipomo, California.[2] It focuses on project based learning, student-centered culture, and college readiness. It is a member of the New Tech Network, a school design organization with nearly 200 schools.[3] It serves grades 9–12 as part of the Lucia Mar Unified School District (LMUSD).[4]
Campus
Central Coast New High School is on the side of Nipomo High School’s campus, with two gates connecting the schools campuses. New Tech has 19 classrooms, numbering from 902 to 920, in a clockwise circle around the campus. The multipurpose room, room 900 is situated in front of the campus in direct view of the parking lot. There are two offices on the campus, one located attached to room 900, and one located in room 901. The campus is located around a large central quad, where students gather during the break and lunch periods of the day. In the quad, there are two large metal canopies, as well as a small field and basketball hoop.[5][6][7][8] The campus is a closed campus, meaning that the gates are closed during the school day, and students have to get permission to leave the school early during school hours.[9]
Extracurricular activities
New Tech boasts numerous extracurricular activities, from traditional high school sports to any club that a student can make. Every year, new students will continue current clubs or make a new club depending on its popularity. Some examples of New Tech's extracurricular activities include Mock Trial, Gardening club, Robotics (with Nipomo High School), D&D, and Magic the Gathering. New Tech also hosts an Esports club which competes in the game Overwatch 2.[10][11][12]
Athletics
Central Coast New Tech does not have a dedicated sports program but because of the shared campus with Nipomo High School, New Tech students are able to experience sports alongside Nipomo Students and get the full experience of high school sports.[13] Nipomo High School competes as a member of the Central Coast Athletic Association, and has competed in CIF Championships for Football in 2014, and Boys Swimming in 2018.[14]
