Chōkai gassan ryōsho-gu is a Shinto shrine that enshrines the kami of both Chōkaisan Ōmonoimi Shrine (鳥海山大物忌神社) and Gassan Shrine (月山神社)
The shrine's name in kanji is Chōkai Gassan Ryōshō-gū (⿃海⽉⼭両所宮). Chōkai (⿃海) is Mount Chōkai's name. Gassan (⽉⼭) is Mount Gassan's name. Ryōshō (両所) means "two places". Gū (宮) means "shrine". The name means "The Shrine of Two Places, Mount Chōkai and Mount Gassan".
It is easily accessible from Kita-Yamagata Station
It enshrines the deities Kuninotokotachi no Mikoto of Chōkaisan Ōmonoimi Shrine (Mount Chōkai) and Tsukuyomi of Gassan Shrine (Mount Gassan).
New years festival[edit]
