Chak 43/GD, district and tehsil Okara[edit]
Chak No 43/G.D. (Punjabi, Urdu: چک نمبر 43 جی ڈی) is a Village in Tehsil & District Okara , Punjab, Pakistan. It is situated 20 km from Okara on Bangla gogera road. Its neighbour villages are Chak 44 gd, Chak 42 gd, Chak 45(Retri) and Chak 48 gd. The population of the village is upto 8,000 and around 1400+ houses. Like other villages of the area this village is also popular. The old name of Chak 43/GD is "Namnagar"(not confirmed). This village also has a beautiful mosques, government and private schools. The population here depends on agriculture, although many people work in other fields such as defence, teaching, and engineering.

According to an elder(Haji Mukhtar Ahmad Wagen Wala) of this Village, He says that "during the establishment of a British canal in this area, the region was divided based on the water availability with the name 43/G.D which actually refers to 43th Gogera Drain(43/G.D)". Such a naming practice was common for the British to re-purpose and identify conquered villages. After independence of pakistan this village was founded by the forefathers or elders of the village, they choosed this place for its clean water because at that time water is also a probelm for peoples.
Culture[edit]
Chak 43/GD is also known for the wide variety of culture reflecting the traditions and customs of the area. Melas.[1] (fairs) in the month of 'Saawan' are notable among these traditions where different types of games are played on the drum-beat and shops of sweets and toys etc. are decorated. The population mostly relies on agriculture as their main source of livelihood, although a number of people work in factories and offices as well.

The primary religion of the village is Islam, with a large number of Sunni and also Ahl al-Hadith. There are four mosques in the village, the oldest and the biggest one which is developed with the donations of the locals of the village is known as "Jamia Masjid Chak 43/GD".
Economy & Agriculture[edit]
Agriculture is the backbone of the village almost and most of the people earn their living through farming by growing crops and selling milk. People which doesn't have their own land they take on lease for a year and grow crops. Some people also do government and private jobs in other cities of pakistan or abroad. The soil is very fertile and is suitable for farming. The principal crops are rice, wheat, potato, corn, and some minors are mustard, garlic, onion, and barley. Peoples are also earning their lives from freelancing. Peoples are selling their cows and buffalos for money, thats why the number of animals that are producing milk in that village are decreasing and the prices of milk are increasing day by day. In this village there are also welding shops, carpenter shops, dairy shop, general stores, hardware shops, mobile shops. The average salary of a person in this village is around Rs. 20,000 and maximum is around about 2.5 lacs.

Like other areas of Punjab the summer is very hot and winter is fairly cold. The climate is usually warm and dry. The coldest months are December to February, when temperatures may drop to 3 °C (37 °F), with moderate rainfall. The hottest months are May to July, when temperatures may reach 45 °C (113 °F). The annual average rainfall in the city is approximately 509 millimetres (20.0 in).

Almost 68% peoples of the village are literate. The village has facility of one high school for girls and one for boys and three more private schools. There are also tuition centres and academies are in this village. People send their children to Okara for secondary and higher secondary education. Students from this village are also studying in University of Okara[2], a well recognized university from HEC[3]
