Chaka Ngwenya is a Zimbabwean gospel artist and radio personality, he worked for Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation.[1][2][3]
Early background
Born Chakanaka Watch, Chaka Ngwenya was born in Chinhoyi, a small town west of the capital city of Harare.
Background
In 1992 he played for Caps United, where he had a short stint. In 1997, he became known as a radio DJ working for Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Radio 3, now Power FM Zimbabwe, and his popular gospel music hits program. He was also the lead singer of one of Zimbabwe’s first gospel contemporary boy bands, The Soul Seekers, of the 90s. In 2008 he was director of SARFM Radio in USA.[4][5][6][7]

Charity work
Chaka Ngwenya has been involved in voluntary work with The Salvation Army in the US and Zimbabwe in feeding the hungry, the orphans, paying school fees for children and youths and building a school in Guruve. In 2011 he launched a song project for charity.[18][19]
In 2021, Ngwenya established a Youth Transformation Center in Zvimba district.[20]
