Cory Sklar (born May 5th, 1980), known professionally as Chaki, is a Los Angeles based funk musician known for his alien wizard persona, humorous lyrics[1] and bass heavy electro-funk.[2]

He has opened up for acts like The Space Lady, El Vez, "Weird Paul" Petroskey, Bob Log III, Peelander-Z, The Mutants (San Francisco band), Frightwig, Schlong and Shannon and the Clams. Chaki has performed live at The Noise Pop Festival,[3] Reno's Off Beat Fest[4] and SF Sketchfest[5]. In 2019 he released "The Water" EP on Who Can You Trust? Records featuring Chris Pinnick from Chicago (band) on guitar [6] and a corresponding video filmed at an Oakland Taco Bell.[7] In 2020 he went viral with the song "How To Hanukkah."[8]

Personal Life

Chaki is a 5th generation Los Angeles native of Mexican and Jewish decent. His father is Buddy Sklar of The Leaves.
