Chandra Tandan (born 20 March 1978), is the current managing director of City Express Money Transfer, a remittance company in Nepal.[2][3][4] He has completed his Master of Business Studies degree from Shankar Dev Campus affiliated with Tribhuvan University at Kathmandu. His core skills include business development, financial analysis, banking and remittance, risk management, and investment.[5]
Family and personal life
Chandra Tandan was born on 20th March, 1978 at Chidika, Arghakhanchi. He is the eldest child of Mukta Bahadur Tandan and Lalmaya Devi Tandan. He did his primary school education in his home town and later he migrated to the capital city, Kathmandu for higher studies and better opportunities. He got married to Anita Rayamajhi. They have two children: Aaradhya Tandan is his son, and Aaiesteena Tandan is his daughter. Now, he permanently lives with his family at Kamaladi Ganesthan in Kathmandu.
Business career
He has worked in several fields in various designations. He worked as a Director at Citizens Bank International Limited.[6] He also has experience as a Board of Director in Nepal Electricity Authority.[7] Currently, he is serving as a Managing Director of City Express Group.[8] Under its hood, there are several entities working in various fields such as City Express Money Transfer (Remittance) in Nepal, Japan, and Australia, CityTech (IT Company), City Connect (Travel & Tours), and City Express Finance (Finance).[9] He is the chairman of City Express Finance and also the country representative/ Director of GmoneyTrans in Korea,[10] which is a sister concern of City Express Money Transfer.[11]
