Biography

Chang Yang Fa (Chinese: 张延发; pinyin: Zhāng YánFā; born 1948)[1] is a Singaporean collector and the founder of the MINT Museum of Toys[2]. He is recognized globally for his collection of over 50,000 vintage toys and childhood memorabilia, which is considered one of the most comprehensive of its kind in Southeast Asia. His efforts in preserving material culture led to the establishment of the first purpose-built museum for toys in the world.

Early Life and Education

Chang Yang Fa was born in Indonesia and moved to Singapore at a young age. He was educated in Singapore and later pursued further studies in the United Kingdom. Notably, Chang was a member of Singapore's inaugural cohort of National Service (NS) in 1967.[3]
