Charl Jacobs is a South African businessman. He is the founder of Phangela Group, a security services company.

Early Life
Jacobs was born in the Eastern Cape, South Africa. In an interview on Mannmade radio, Jacobs recounted how, at the age of six, his parents bought him a sandpit for his birthday, which he turned into a vegetable garden and later sold the vegetables to some of his neighbors. Jacobs said this was the first time he had started a business. From then onwards he was always looking for business opportunities. At Junior high school he started a “DJ” business and would DJ at school discos, and birthday parties.[1].
Education
Jacobs went to Dale College High School, from 1991-1995. During his years in high school, Jacobs was involved in various activities. He was the Junior Head Boy, a prefect, Vice President of the Junior Town Council and Chairman of the Interact committee. After high school in 1996, he went to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where he studied Financial Information Systems. In 1998 he enrolled for a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Cape Town and completed his degree in 2001[2].
Career
In 2000, Jacobs started the Phangela Group. At its inception, Phangela was a Labor Brokering and Recruitment Company servicing the security industry. In its 20 years of existence, the Phangela Group has evolved to include other divisions in its portfolio. These include security services, armed response, electronics, undercover services and trolley management[3]
Jacobs is also the CEO of a few companies, which include Quan holdings.[4], Zithande Appliances, and Siyayenza Facilities[2]
