Charles Adolphe Maucotel
Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Charles Adolphe Maucotel (c. 1820–1858) was a French luthier known for his instruments of great quality.
Born in Mirecourt around 1820, Maucotel worked in Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume’s shop from 1839 until 1844, when he began his own.
He committed suicide in Paris in 1858.[1]
It was an 1849 Maucotel which cellist Pierre Fournier played in all of his recordings, as well as in performances for the last 18 years of his career.
