Charles Edgar Ezell (born November 11, 1969) is an American data analyst who has served as the acting director of the Office of Personnel Management since 2025.

Early life

Charles Edgar Ezell was born on November 11, 1969, in Tarrant County, Texas.[1]

Career

In January 2025, Ezell was appointed the acting director of the United States Office of Personnel Management.[2] After taking office, he ordered federal agencies to place staffers in diversity, equity, and inclusion positions on administrative leave[2] and to return remote workers to offices.[3] Ezell directed agencies to remove content that "inculcate or promote gender ideology"—contributing to online resource removals on medical websites—and to not record gender identity.[4]
