Charles J. Moreland

Charles J. Moreland is a former District of Columbia Shadow Representative, having served from January 3, 1991 to January 3,1995. Representative Moreland was elected in 1990 by the voters of Washington D.C. to the office of United States Representative to petition Congress for D.C. Statehood. Representative Charles J. Moreland was reelected in November 1992 to his second term. He chose not to seek re-election in 1994

In 1991 he failed to appear in court over a disputed car loan and a warrant was made for his arrest. Later the lawyer and political consultant stated he only did not appear as he knew nothing about the hearing.[1]

While Moreland was a shadow representative, he also taught business law at Southeastern University from 1991 to 1994.[2]
