Charles S Langtry, FRINA, HonFIED is a British naval architect and GWR Great Western Railway Shareholder who was an independent maritime consultant and an educational advocate for engineering careers in Liverpool.
Background and education
Charles Langtry's parents chose Birkenhead, a place close and still at a distance from the Industrial Revolution in Liverpool by the physical barrier of the River Mersey, and their family home where Charles Langtry would live throughout his early years and career as a Naval Architect was 2 Wellington Rd, Birkenhead, Prenton CH43 2JE
Professional career and Engineering advocacy
Not only was Charles Langtry a Graduate of the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, he was interested in the construction of modern ships but also in all new technology at the time; henceforth he invested heavily and at a great personal fortune cost on the GWR Great Western Railway as a shareholder.
