Charleston Boulevard is a 19.2-mile (30.9 km) east–west major arterial thoroughfare in the Las Vegas Valley. Parts of it are designated SR 159, and a small portion of the shared roads are part of the NHS.
Route description
As SR 159 enters the city of Las Vegas, it transitions into Charleston Boulevard, a major east–west section line arterial bisecting the Las Vegas Valley. Signs for Charleston Boulevard first appear at an at-grade intersection with Sky Vista Drive. The highway crosses the Las Vegas Beltway and runs through the planned community of Summerlin. It then heads due east to intersect several other major arterials, such as Rainbow Boulevard (SR 595), Jones Boulevard (SR 596), Decatur Boulevard, Valley View Boulevard, Rancho Drive (former SR 599), and Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. SR 159 continues east to intersect I-15 and then passes south of Downtown Las Vegas. At Main Street, Charleston Boulevard changes signing from West to East. In Downtown, Charleston Boulevard intersects Las Vegas Boulevard, Maryland Parkway, Eastern Avenue (former SR 607), and Fremont Street (SR 582). East of this "Five Points" junction, Charleston Boulevard becomes the north–south axis for the Las Vegas street grid. From there, SR 159 ventures further east to intersect Pecos Road, I-11/U.S. 93/U.S. 95, and Lamb Boulevard (former SR 610)[citation needed] before reaching its terminus at Nellis Boulevard (SR 612). Charleston Boulevard itself continues eastward, intersecting Hollywood Boulevard before reaching its eastern terminus at a turning circle about 0.5 mi (0.805 km) east of Hollywood Blvd[4] near Frenchman Mountain. The easternmost address in 7070, while its westernmost address is 11700.[5]
