The Charleston City Paper is an alternative weekly published every Wednesday in Charleston, South Carolina. It mostly covers local places, events, and happenings in the Charleston area which would be of interest to its target audience of college students and young professionals.
The paper also covers local, state, and national politics from a decidedly more liberal editorial stance than one would find in most other South Carolina papers, and it hosts at least one paleoconservative commentator, Jack Hunter, also known as "The Southern Avenger". The City Paper is free, financed by selling ad space, and can be picked up in most downtown shops and restaurants.
