Charley (French: T'choupi) is a series of children's books created by Thierry Courtin.
Its eponym is a young boy with the appearance of a baby penguin.[1][2] By 2018, the series had sold over 25 million copies, with an additional two million sold each year.[2]
A feature-length animated film of the same name directed by Jean-Luc François was released in 2004. The adventures of Charley have also been made into an animated series entitled Charley and Mimmo (broadcast on television since 1999) and then Charley and Friends (2008), as well as a children's musical (2011).[3] Its French YouTube channel had around 2 million subscribers and a billion views in 2023.[4]
