From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki
Charlie Cole born John Charles Cole (1900–1985) was a racing cyclist from Bedfordshire.[1] Cole raced for the Luton Wheelers Cycling club throughout the thirties and forties. It has been reported that in the 1930s a thousand additional spectators would turn out to watch a race when Cole was racing.[2] The Charlie Cole cup is awarded today for the best 25 mile ‘all-rounder’ by some cycling clubs in England.[citation needed]
