Charlie Zakkour is an American reality television personality, cryptocurrency trader, and private investor. He is widely known for being an original cast member on the Bravo reality television series Next Gen NYC.
Early life
Zakkour was born in New York to Anwar Zakkour and Elizabeth Williams.[1] His father is a veteran investment banker who held high-level executive roles for Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, and other companies.[2] His mother is an art collector based in New York City.[1]
Zakkour was raised by his mother until he was 10 years old, at which point he was sent to live with his father because his mother was not “feeling up to the task” and was too busy for him.[1] Zakkour’s relationship with his father is strained, with Zakkour likening his father to Logan Roy from Succession.[3]
Zakkour frequented the New York City club scene beginning at age 14.[4]
As a teenager Zakkour dated actress Lindsay Lohan, who would pick up from high school during their relationship.[5]
Career
Television
Zakkour gained public attention when he was cast in the first season of Next Gen NYC, which follows young adults in New York City as they navigate careers, relationships, and independence.[6][7] Zakkour was cast along with his then-roomate, Dylan Geick, and his close friend Georgia McCann, whom he recommended for the show.[8][9] The series, originally titled "Making It in Manhattan,"[10] was set to feature on ensemble cast consisting of primarily lesser known individuals in their early 20s.[11] However, Zakkour was angered after the show was retooled to feature more children of the Real Housewives (including Ariana Biermann and Gia Giudice), which became a prominent storyline in the show's first season.[12]
Zakkour was large regarded as the villain of the first season.[13] Much of the season's tension stemmed from Zakkour's disputes with the children of Real Housewives.[14][15] During the first episode, Zakkour made repeated sexual comments about the sister of fellow castmate Brooks Marks, which resulted in Marks' father Seth confronting Zakkour on camera about his treatment of women.[16]
Zakkour was widely condemned after an altercation between him and Georgia McCann wherein he called McCann derogatory terms for women, referred to her as "dirt poor," and said that he would slap her if she were a man.[9] Zakkour received additional criticism after he made a racially insensitive gesture while imitating fellow castmate Riley Burruss.[17] The scene where Burruss confronted Zakkour for his behavior was cited as one of the series' most powerful moments on Us Weekly's Top Reality Stars of the Year for 2025.[18]
In October 2025, the series was renewed for a second season.[19] Although Zakkour was featured at BravoCon 2025,[20][21] he was not included in the "Thank U Next Gen" cast panel featuring the majority of his Next Gen NYC castmates.[22] However, Zakkour confirmed at BravoCon that he would be returning for the second season.[23]
Cryptocurrency and investing
Outside of reality television, Zakkour works as a private investor and cryptocurrency trader.[4] Zakkour’s father financially supports him, giving him money to purchase and trade stocks.[12] In 2023, Zakkour filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, citing unemployment and claiming to have zero assets.[24] In July 2023, his debt was discharged after completing personal finance courses.[24]
Legal issues
In 2014, Zakkour was arrested in Miami Beach for alleged trespassing and cannabis possession.[25] Zakkour submitted a written plea of not guilty and a hearing was scheduled for May of that year.[25] However, the case was discharged as nolle prosequi, effectively dismissing the case without prejudice.[25]
In May 2025, Zakkour was present during the arrest of cryptocurrency investor John Woeltz outside a Soho townhouse for kidnapping and torturing fellow investor Michael Carturan.[26] Woeltz and his partner Duplessie had enlisted Zakkour to bring attractive women, many of whom were employed at Brandy Melville store, to the townhouse.[27] Although media reports have noted his alleged association with individuals involved in the case,[28][29] Zakkour was never arrested or formally charged, and no legal action was taken against him.[30]
