Founded in 1991, Charter Hall is a property management and investment company with $79.5 billion funds under management as at 30 June 2021.[1]

The company owns and manages properties across the office, industrial, and retail sectors.

Investment

Charter Hall have acquired stakes in other businesses.

- In 2010 Charter Hall acquired Macquarie Group’s real estate platform[2]

- In 2014 Charter Hall purchased approximately $600 million of pubs and Clubs from Woolworths[3]

- In 2018 Charter Hall acquired Folkestone (FLK)[4]

- In 2021 the business acquired 50% ownership in Paradice Investment Management[5]

History

- David Southon, Cedric Fuchs, and Andre Beit founded Charter Hall in the 1990s, starting with Commercial Property[6]

- In 2004 Transfield Holdings acquired 50% of Charter Hall[7]

- Co-founder Andrew Beit left the business, and David Harrison joined as joint managing director with David Southon. [8]

- In 2005 Charter Hall listed on the Australian Stock Exchange[9]

- In 2017 David Southon left Charter Hall[10]
