Chase Petra is an American pop rock band formed in 2018 in Long Beach, California. The group released its debut studio album, Liminal, on July 5, 2019, on the label International House of Chase Petra.

History

Chase Petra was started in 2018 by members Hunter Allen and Evan Schaid, who have collaborated musically since 2013. Brooke Dickson joined later in 2018. The name "Chase Petra" is inspired by the character Petra Arkanian from the 1985 science fiction novel Ender's Game.[1] The members felt that they should add another word to the band's name and decided on the word "chase" after encountering a Chase bank in Long Beach.[2] The group often refers to their style of music as "quarter-life crisis pop rock".[3]

Their debut album, Liminal, was released on July 5, 2019, under the record label International House of Chase Petra.

Their second album, 4 o'clock in the afternoon, was released on April 8, 2022.

Influences

The group has been influenced by Daft Punk, Caroline Polachek, boygenius, Cold War Kids, Panic! at the Disco, Paramore, All Time Low, Hayley Williams, and MUNA.[4][5]
