David Rosov, Executive Chef, is the founder and owner of Palm Beach Personal Chefs in South Florida.
Personal Life:
Executive Chef David Rosov is the owner and founder of Palm Beach Personal Chefs in South Florida. Chef David inherited a taste for all things exquisite from his grandfather, a purveyor who owned a fine butcher shop that operated in the early 1940s. Chef David’s father established his first account at the Waldorf Astoria and then went on to build his own state-of-the-art refrigerated warehouse in USVI. The warehouse was used for the procurement of fine ingredients that could then be supplied to the cruise ships that would embark on their cruises from Port Charlotte Amalia.
From a very early age, Chef David’s parents introduced him to gastronomy and developed in him a fine taste for exotic cuisines. Sips of champagne and developing a taste for caviar would linger on Chef David’s palate as he grew older. At the age of 13, his parents were training him to set the tables and stock the bar at the family-owned fine dining establishment, The Saloon. The Saloon was run by Chef David’s father until his passing in 1981. At that time, Chef David’s mother, Chef David, and other family members carried on his father's legacy until the restaurant’s final closing in 1985. It was while he was running the restaurant with his family that The Saloon's Executive Chef began preparing Chef David for his journey off to culinary school by instilling in him the foundations of French Cuisine.
Chef David continued his culinary education by attending the Culinary Institute of America in New York from 1988 to 1990. The CIA is known for its industry-leading faculty with members who have unmatched credentials among other culinary schools. The instructors shared their expertise. This valuable training for Chef David’s future career path included hands-on instruction from renowned master chefs, entrepreneurs, and wine experts.
In 1990, Chef David met the up-and-coming Michelin Chef Guillaume at world-renowned L'Orangerie in Los Angeles. The two went on to live with the grandparents of Chef Guillaume’s Chateau in Paris and tour France while Chef David had the privilege of staging for a year there. A stagiaire, or stage (pronounced "staahj") for short, is an unpaid kitchen intern. These are coveted positions in Michelin restaurants, where a chef can expose himself to new techniques. This was the most typical sort of training before the advent of culinary schools. And in many top-level restaurants all around the world, chefs attest that much personal inspiration came from those they studied from, implying that this is still a popular approach to learn.
Upon completion of his international training and returning to the United States, Chef David placed himself in a prime position to share the techniques he learned while staging. His expertise and intuitive skill brought him an opportunity to enter the world of Motion Pictures and Television Catering in Hollywood. His first job upon his return from Europe was secured with actress Victoria Principal as a personal chef, offering private services. Chef David would now venture on to many high-profile individuals and American icons such as Barron Hilton, also including well-known athletes, politicians, and other high net worth individuals.
With such high demand for Chef David’s private chef consulting services, Chef David developed a vision for the next logical step, founding Palm Beach Personal Chefs. With his company, Chef David Rosov provides one-on-one, custom delivered meal plans, customized menus, gourmet food preparation for dinner parties, menu development, planning, purchasing, estate management, and many other high-end services with an emphasis on the highest quality of ingredients and exquisite pairings.
