Chelsea Smith (born April 8, 1992) is a copper plate etching printmaking fine artist who specializes in artwork that explores the empowerment of women and is inspired by Irish, Scottish, Welsh and Nordic animal symbology of ancient civilizations and folklores.

Biography[edit]

[Name of artist] was born ... Smith, who was born in Orlando, Florida and gifted with an innate artistic talent, is influenced by artists and printmakers Albrecht Dürer and Rembrandt and inspired by her English and Irish heritage.

She hails from Casselberry, Florida and grew up living in her hometown and spending her summers in Nottingham, England and Derry, Northern Ireland.

Drawing pets to raise monies for Pet Rescue by Judy was one of her creative passions as a child and was awarded with the Dora Lee Russell Scholarship for Fine Arts when she was a senior at Lake Howell High School in Winter Park, Florida.

Smith received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Central Florida in 2015 and launched her Art By Chelsea company shortly after graduation. She exhibits and sells her artwork that’s brought to life with etched copper plates during fine art shows, Medieval- and Scottish-themed festivals and comic conventions throughout Florida.

Her artwork is also available to view and purchase at the Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts and localARTicles Gallery at Islands of Adventure in Orlando.

Fine art career[edit]

[More information about the artist's career goes here ...] Smith’s first solo exhibition “Chelsea Smith: Magical Realism…Etching Myths and Legends” was on display at the Orlando Public Library from May through July 2018. She was selected as a participating artist during the "Aqua Art Miami" preview exhibit at the Rogers Kiene Building gallery in downtown Orlando in July 2018 and the “Bella Donnas” exhibit at Bloomingdales at the Mall at Millenia in Orlando from June through July 2018.

Her memberships include the National Association of Women Artists and Seminole County Printmakers.
