Child support in Israel
The laws governing child support in Israel are like the rest of Israeli family law can be tried under either civil courts or religious courts with several limitations applying to the conduct of religious courts.Jewish,Muslim,Druze and Christian courts are officially recognised by the Israeli state as having jurisdiction over family matters if a case is first filled in those courts, secular courts have jurisdiction correspondingly if a case is first filed with them .Explicit consent is required by the mother for rabbanical courts to preside. Following a 2017 supreme court case, both parents are considered responsible for the maintenance of the child while formerly only fathers were considered responsible.[1]
