China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Committee
China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Committee（中国—东盟科技产业合作委员会） is a business cooperation organization was established on October 26th, 2017. It was set up by China-ASEAN Business Council, Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd and representatives from ten Association of South East Asia Nations (ASEAN) countries to enhance the bilateral cooperation and exchange in science and technology industry, and to promote practical cooperation of the representative organizations and enterprises in the field of science and technology from China and ASEAN countries.[1]

The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of ASEAN, and the 15th anniversary of China-ASEAN strategic partnership will be celebrated in 2018. China and ASEAN countries are seizing the opportunity to forge a higher level strategic partnership and build a closer China-ASEAN Community of Shared Destiny. China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Committee sprung up out of nothing and settled in Nanning, the city of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China and listed on Tus-City (Nanning).
China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Committee was set in motion by representatives from ASEAN countries and Tus-Holdings Co., Ltd. on October 26th, 2017. In the Inauguration Ceremony of the Committee, Consensus on Strengthen China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Win-win Cooperation (hereinafter referred to as "the Consensus") was published. According to the Consensus, the Committee is a business cooperation organization between the business circles, institutions and enterprises from China and ASEAN countries and consists of representatives of institutions and enterprises from China and ASEAN countries. In order to promote the collaboration and joint in the science and technology industry and boost trade and investment cooperation, the Committee will hold the China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Conference annually. Science and technology exhibitions, investigation tours and seminars are provided to exchange leading information and create more opportunities for exchange and cooperation in fields of science, technology, business and education.[2]
Principle of the Committee[edit]
The Committee adheres to the policy of "mutual respect", “fairness and justice” and “win-win cooperation”. It will spare no efforts to establish the platform for exchanges, mutual learning, cooperation and development in science and technology industry between China and ASEAN countries, gathering innovation resource and forming a resultant force to promote the development of smart manufacturing, Internet +, digital economy and sharing economy. It is working hard to accelerate the shift in driving forces for development, strengthen the construction of China-ASEAN Technology Transfer Center, science park and technical demonstration base and promote exchanges in science, education and talent training.[3]

The Seminar on China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry was held in Beijing on Sep 26th, 2017.[4]
China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Forum and Inauguration Ceremony of China-ASEAN Science & Technology Industry Cooperation Committee was held in Beijing on Oct 26th ,2017.[2]
The official website and Wechat official account of CASTC started running on Jan 25th, 2018.
The Inauguration of China-ASEAN Science and Technology Industry Cooperation Committee was held at Guangxi Tus-Holdings on Mar 28th, 2018.[5]
Significance[edit]
The Committee settled in Tus-City (Nanning). As the key construction project of Municipal Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning Municipal Government, the Committee is the demonstration base of science and technology innovation and new town of science, technology and humanity, striving to promote transformation of scientific research achievement in the fields of industry, university and research, provide industrial services and gather the financial resources.It will become a demonstration base with innovative services to link and provide services for the universities, scientific research institutions, S&T industry, S&T finance and personnel training and exchanges in China and ASEAN countries.[3]
